CORPORATE, COMMERCIAL AND M&A
Our lawyers have extensive experience of advising foreign investors and Mongolian corporates on a range of corporate matters, from complex joint venture arrangements to acquisitions in the mining sector. We regularly undertake due diligence exercises for our clients and understand the key pressure points in most active sectors in the Mongolian market.
ENERGY, MINING AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Our team has advised on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the jurisdiction, including the Egiin Gol hydropower project advising the Ministry of Energy, and on aspects of two major coal based power plant projects, including negotiating an investment agreement with the Government of Mongolia.
BANKING AND FINANCE
We regularly advise on bilateral commercial loans into Mongolia from IFIs and commercial lenders (whether secured or unsecured), and recently advised on the largest syndicated loan to a Mongolian commercial bank, in excess of USD 150 million. Our lawyers regularly advise on restructurings in distressed situations and have broad experience in this area.
INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION
Our lawyers have extensive experience of advising on international arbitration matters relevant to Mongolia, including advising the Government of Mongolia on its Energy Charter Treaty arbitration with Khan Resources, and advising international clients on claims against domestic entities. We are able to support both Mongolian and international clients to navigate their strategic priorities, and advise on the optimal course of action in the circumstances.
